About…

In just a few short years on the Twin Cities local music scene, Keyboardist, Recording Artist and Composer Michelle Glaser has appeared as the musical guest on NBC KARE 11’s “Showcase Minnesota,” has had an article in the editor’s note in the monthly magazine “The Edge: Soul of the Cities” and her music has been played on Twin Cities local radio station 90.3FM KFAI.  These days, rather than performing in the local circuit, she is focusing on composing music for FILM, TV and the Video Game industry, although she is in the midst of creating new music for a Theatrical Play as well, coming January 2012.

Michelle’s gift is writing music straight from her soul.  For her, it’s easier to speak through her songs, rather than speak with words that have already been said before.  “Music can express things far better than words at times.  Music helps release inner pain and at the same time brings so much immense joy.  I am grateful for being able to express myself this way, and share my ‘thoughts in musical notes’ with the world.” – Michelle Glaser

Michelle has been playing piano since the tender age of 5, adding percussion to her experience around age 10.  This pianist may have been classically trained, but her love of ‘dancing to a great beat’ inspires her as well.  She has released 2 full-length New Age/Classical albums.  “Between Time,” her most recent, was produced by Anthony J.W. Benson of injoi Music and recorded at Summit Sound in St. Paul, Minnesota.  All of the songs from Between Time were recorded on a $150,000 Bosendorfer piano, compared to her debut release, which was recorded at Pachyderm Studios using a digital synthesizer.

Encouraged by her listeners, Michelle released the Demo ”Dance, Trance and Romance,” the first project she composed, produced, arranged and performed herself,  featuring catchy layered tracks and danceable beats.  With the recent purchase of her Apple iMac, Duet Apogee and Logic Pro Studio 9 software and equipment, Michelle looks forward to remastering this demo, along with including some new music composed in Logic.

She released her fourth CD “Co-Creating with the Divine – Piano Improvisations” in late summer of 2011.  Always writing new music, she expects to be releasing a series of CDs for Meditation, Dance and Inspiration not too far in the distant future!
