Save the Date. “The Gay Mob” coming to the new ‘Cowles Center’ in Minneapolis

It’s Official!  ’The Gay Mob’ goes up at the FABULOUS new Cowles Center Theatre May 24th-27th, 2012. It’s like BROADWAY in Minneapolis.

I’m excited to be releasing new music I created for the Soundtrack to The Gay Mob.  I’m also composing the music played during the live show.  The Soundtrack will be ready for sale at the premiere!

So, what is ‘The Gay Mob?’

The Gay Mob is a play that tackles the issue of marriage equality in the GLBTQ community and the impact politics has on it through comedy. It also deals with the real issue of bullying, which has made headlines in recent months throughout the country as well as right here in Minnesota. GLBTQ youth are especially susceptible to being bullied. It is our goal, not only to entertain, but to inform the audience.

The story takes place in Minneapolis where two young gay men befriend a homeless teenager who has recently been kicked out of his home after his parents discover he’s gay. They take him in and for the first time he feels accepted. For fun, he creates a website called ‘The Gay Mob’ where he posts pictures and videos of the fun times they all share. The fun ends when they discover a Gay Mob actually exists. The trouble mounts when a presidential candidate from Minnesota becomes determined to shut them down.

2012 is an important year as marriage equality will be on the November ballot. Becoming a partner with The Gay Mob, we can reach even more people in an effort to shed light on marriage equality and equality for the entire GLBTQ community in Minnesota.

Performing LIVE on Thursday, November 3rd!

Hello!  I have an impromtu performance on Thursday!  I’ll be playing for the event “Spin Jam” which is held at The Four Seasons Dance Studio in Minneapolis.  (1637 Hennepin Ave)

What you can expect to hear is some of my dance & trance music, as well as some groove/meditation songs that I have never published!

A Spin Jam is a bimonthly experiment in dance and play where a great diversity of individuals come together in a fun-filled environment to experience pure community. There are two rooms lined with huge mirrors: one is filled with DJ’s, Dance Toys, and Blacklight and the other room, without Blacklight, is filled with percussion instruments for ev…eryone to play. It’s like two worlds in one in which everyone is dancing, laughing, and playing together.

Music for The National Film Challenge – October 21-23, 2011

The National Film Challenge is an exhilarating worldwide filmmaking competition from the creators of the 48 Hour Film Project and KDHX Community Media. The Premise: Participating teams have just one weekend to write, shoot and edit a short film or video.  Film entries can be no longer than 8 minutes in length.

The Competition is currently underway!  This weekend is all about writing a short film score for my team’s film entry.  Composing is going very smoothly, thanks to the new equipment I purchased this summer: an Apple iMac, Duet Apogee (to link my keyboard) and Logic Pro Studio 9.  Let’s take this to the next level…

Back to the studio!

New Music for “The Gay Mob”

I’ve been in my studio lately composing some new music for a Theatrical Play due to start in January 2012.   “The Gay Mob” is written by Equilibrium Media owner, Chris Durant, who also is the originator of the “Out Twin Cities Film Festival” held each year.  I’m going to let The Gay Mob’s social media sites explain it best in their own words what you can expect from this promising play!

NEW CD Release “Co-Creating with the Divine – Piano Improvisations”

Friends, I am happy to announce that my newest CD “Co-Creating with the Divine – Piano Improvisations” is now available for digital download at many online retailers, such as my ReverbNation store!  Click on this link to find it:  http://www.reverbnation.com/store/store/artist_477834?item_type=music

Also at cdbaby:  http://www.cdbaby.com/artist/michelleglaser

or itunes:  http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/co-creating-divine-piano-improvisations/id455050168

The songs from this CD were created ‘in the moment.’  In other words, on those nights when I came to my keyboard feeling inspired and not having any idea what to play other than my emotions…I hit record and just started playing.  This is fresh, raw material tapped from universal source!

I would like to thank my partner Rowan Glaser, Tatiana Katara and Willow Teri for the inspiration on song 2 “Improv #2 Love’s Garden.”  With your presence in our home that night, the night filling the room with tender darkness, your ears and hearts open to receive, the music came pouring into my hands with grace.  I thank you.

New Music – Update

Well, life is a learning curve, right?  I now know to check all avenues when releasing new music!  This is the first time I have individual songs that are over 10 minutes in length.  On-line retailers have specific guidelines for artists who sell on their sites.  So, after much reading and uploading…my new CD “Co-Creating with the Divine – Piano Improvisations” will soon be available!  It will first appear on itunes and cdbaby, and the other stores are soon to follow.  Just takes a little time.  In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at the album artwork!

Thanks for your patience folks.  I look forward to your feedback to this new music which is very dear to my heart.  I literally was in a place of love when I came to my keyboard and created these, as some of them were composed on nights that dear friends were visiting.  They are relaxing, peaceful and full of divine inspiration.  I hope you enjoy!

NEW MUSIC releases coming soon!

Hello There!  I’m excited to let you know that I will be releasing some new music very soon!  They will be single downloads rather than a full-length cd.  I’m creating two new series of music:

1)  “Co-Creating with the Divine – Piano Improvisations by Michelle Glaser”    This set of single downloads will be songs that were created In the Moment.  In other words, on those nights when I came to my keyboard feeling inspired and not having any idea what to play other than my emotions…I hit record and just started playing.  This is fresh, raw material tapped from universal source.

2) “Meditation Series – The Journey Within”  This set of single downloads will include music with layered tracks/drums, strings, sitar, exotic bells…Just the right mixture of sounds to get you in your ‘zen’ mode.  Each song is 30 minutes in length and geared to be played during yoga, art, dance or massage.

I will keep you posted as to when and where these are released, in the meantime feel free to click on my ‘Services’ or ‘Soul Songs’ tab to read about what else I have to offer you.  Thank you!
